Oscar Overview

This will not come as a shock to many, but I watched the Oscars last night. What may be shocking is that I somehow charmed my love to watch it with me, which made it that much more fun. As we laughed, cheered and (mostly) rolled our eyes through the almost FOUR hours, here is what I came up with as the most note-worthy moments of the whole show:

The only reasons we didn't completely fall asleep: Jack Black & Will Ferrel.

• I had never heard of her, but she was obviously very well known by the ones in the room: Sherry Lansing's Dress was easily my favourite of the night.

Hugh Jackman as an accent? Are Sean and I the only people who didn't know this?

As if Clint Eastwood (and anyone else other than Penelope Cruz) can understand Italian. Faker.

• What was up with Philip Seymour-Hoffman? He looked like he has been sleeping in a back alley for the past week. Do you think he's growing dreds or just forgot to comb his hair... for the past month? (How is there not a photo of that somewhere on the internet?)

• After being "offered" assistance to write acceptance speeches (we hope he didn't take them up) Forest Whitaker went up and made the most genuine and sincere acceptance speech of the night. How can you not LOVE this man?

• Did we just see Jennifer Hudson's nipple?

As if they skipped Anna Nicole during the dead famous people montage
